Our Trainers
Our instructors are all law enforcement certified and employed by the local Sheriff's Office.
Each instructor is a current member of the K9 unit.
Trainers
Matt Aitken
Matt is currently a K9 handler and Instructor for the local Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit. He has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 2006 and has been a K9 handler since 2011.
- Certified as a K9 Instructor by Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- Certified K9 Team Evaluator
Jeff Clement
Jeff has worked for the local Sheriff’s Office for over twenty years and has been in the K9 Unit since 2011. He has worked two successful dogs during his tenure.
- Certified dual purpose Canine Team through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
John Harr
John has been with Sheriff’s Office for 7 years and has worked within the K9 Unit for the last 4 years. He and his K9 partner are certified through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the United States Police Canine Association.
Tony LoRusso
Tony has been a K9 handler with the local Sheriff’s Office since 2003, and is currently working with his 3rd K9 partner, Logan.
- Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) K9 Trainer & Evaluator
- United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) National Level 1 trainer for both Patrol and Detector K9s
- Instructs the FDLE K9 Instructor Course (training the trainer)
