Tony has been a K9 handler with the local Sheriff’s Office since 2003, and is currently working with his 3rd K9 partner “Logan.” Tony is a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) K9 Trainer & Evaluator. He is a United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) National Level 1 trainer for both Patrol and Detector K9s. 

Tony also instructs the FDLE K9 Instructor Course, teaching other aspiring law enforcement K9 trainers, and has instructed multiple patrol and detector K9 schools for agencies all over the Tampa Bay Area. Along with his experience attending training across the country with his own dogs, this has led to Tony working with hundreds of K9s of many breeds in many different disciplines, from basic obedience all the way to K9/SWAT team integration. 

Tony has also competed regionally and nationally with his K9s winning awards in Obedience, Agility, Detection, and Top Dog honors in combined Patrol & Detection work. Tony’s concentration on applying K9 Psychology and Behavior Shaping through positive reinforcement to police work quite literally changed the game for law enforcement K9s in the bay area.
